Although the rules system for this game is nominally The Cinematic Unisystem (as used in Buffy, Angel etc from Eden Studios), a knowledge of the rules is not necessary as any crunchy rules mechanics/dice rolling etc is handled "behind the scenes" by The Director.
The game will take a simple format in that The Director will post what basically amounts to a short story, then the players respond (in character) how they see themselves reacting. The Director then constructs a follow-on scene from these responses and leaves it at a cliff-hanger and so on and so on.
Responses are written in the first or third person (e.g. "I will look around for the assassin, and if he finds him he will beat the snot out of him until he tells me who paid him") and the present/future tense.
If you wish to make any comments, suggestions etc that are not directly related to the current action these should be clearly labeled as "OOC" (or "out of character"), (e.g. "OOC - when this is all over, I think my character could get involved in a romantic sub-plot").
Try to give hints (e.g. sample quotes, catchphrases, mannerisms) as to how your character speaks and thinks - this will help The Director in drafting his responses.
And don't forget that if you wish to make suggestions etc that you don't want the other PLAYERS knowing about, you can always send The Director a "Private Message" (PM).
You can only write responses for your own character - although you can make suggestions for actions to be taken by non-player characters (that is all the characters being controlled by The Director).
Feel free to read threads that relate to other charcaters, but should you discover a plot-point that relates to your character this way, please try to remember that while you may know it your character does not!
